Every so often a project comes through that covers just about everything we do. This is one of them. Names below are real customers who agreed to be quoted; I have kept the specific address out of respect for their privacy.
The situation
Karen and her family in Edmond were running a business that occupied three separate buildings on one property. They had already tried two different companies before us. Neither could figure out how to cover all three buildings cleanly without tearing up the property to run trench.
On top of that, the family was moving into a new residence and wanted a full smart home and security system in place on move in day.
The design goals they gave us
- Cover all three commercial buildings with professional grade cameras.
- No trenching on the commercial property.
- One unified app for everything, commercial and residential.
- The residential install had to include TV mounting, smart home devices, and a full alarm system.
- Everything finished before they moved in.
What we actually did
On the commercial side, we used point to point wireless network bridges between the three buildings instead of trenching. Each building got its own local recorder and a set of enterprise grade IP cameras. The bridges carried video and management traffic back to the main building, where the recorder and access control controller live.
On the residential side, we installed a Qolsys IQ Panel 4 with a full sensor package, outdoor and indoor cameras with AI people and vehicle alerts, smart locks, a smart thermostat, a smart garage controller, and whole home audio. We also mounted the TVs and hid the cables behind the drywall.
